GRAM SAKHI FELLOWSHIP

Gram Sakhi is an Hindi term which means ‘rural female friend.’ This fellowship program supports young rural women’s leadership and their activism for social change. Through this fellowship, we seek to promote rural women leadership and activism with the help of education, awareness, social action program and community mobilisation in rural areas. Muheem believes in encouraging rural women leadership for collective women empowerment and activism. It’s a two month fellowship program. We choose two to four young rural women under the one batch of this fellowship. 

POSSIBLE FOCUS AREAS

Fellows are welcome to expand and interpret themes, based on their experiences and larger vision for ensuring women activism and empowerment. 

• Researching women rights focused thematic – women health, women rights, gender, sexuality, empowerment and development.
• Promote women activism through women and girls union.
• Exploring and examining in depth agency of the livelihood program for sustainable women unity and empowerment.
• Understanding relationship between ethnicity, inequality and conflict experienced by women.
